National JB Minicamp held Memorial Day Weekend – a weekend camp for all CISV JBers in the USA held at a different location each year. Usually CISV Jacksonville participants carpool with an adult chaperone to the camp. Details are announced on the CISV JB Jacksonville Facebook page and in our CISV Jacksonville monthly newsletter.

What is CISV? CISV International is a global organization that educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world through international and local educational programs for youth. Our local mini camps are innovative, fun, non-formal ‘learning by doing’ programs that illustrate CISV’s purpose and values of friendship, inclusiveness, enthusiasm, and cooperation.
What is Mini Camp? Mini Camp is an incredible weekend; jam-packed with fun CISV activities, top notch educational content, awesome people, energizers galore, and so much more! Our awesome CISV Jacksonville Junior Branch Board are planning an amazing mini camp for you.Fun theme: Time Travel            Serious theme:  Diversity Since many of the participants are from different schools, the minicamp will start with “name games” and other “getting to know you activities so don’t worry about not knowing anyone when the camp begins.  Saturday and Sunday will be full days with 4-5 activities surrounding this theme.  Each activity will be followed by a “debrief” where we discuss our “attitudes, skills and knowledge” that have been changed or influenced by the activity.
What are the ages? Mini Camp is open to participants ages 10 to 21 and adult chaperones.

How much does it cost? $125 if you register by Jan 28 or $150 if you register after Jan 28 Includes food and housing for long weekend

What are the transportation arrangements for Jacksonville? We will be CARPOOLING to and from the camp. On your registration form, make sure to mark if you would prefer to drive to or from camp (or if you have no preference) and the amount of people you can fit. You will be contacted before camp with your driving assignment.Please meet at 6:15  pm on Fri, Feb 16 in the parking lot behind South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church (2137 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207) for departure. Pick up will be around 11:30 pm in the same parking lot on Mon, Feb 19.
What should I bring? • A snack to share.  Don’t bring snacks that need to be refrigerated.

• Comfy clothes you can move and not be too hot or cold in! Enough for 3 days. Dress for the weather. There is no heat at the camp

• Shower shoes or flip flops

• Closed toe shoes like sneakers

• Sleeping bag or sheets and blankets

• Pillow

• Cup, plate, bowl, fork, spoon for meals. We will wash and reuse

• Towels

• Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.)

• Sunscreen and bug spray

• Reusable water bottle

• Flashlight

• Raincoat

• A smile!

What are other issues to know? • Arrival should be between 7-9pm on Friday night to North Fork Leadership Center

• Arrive having already eaten dinner

• Departure: We will leave the camp around 10:30 am on Monday

• Meals will be provided from Saturday breakfast to Monday breakfast and that price will be included in the cost.

• Camp T-shirts are included in the registration fee
