This Snapshot will feature Village in Cincinnati, Ohio, Seminar camp delegate to Italy and our Interchanges with Sweden and Czech Republic.

Our delegation to Village and our Junior Counselor arrived in Cincinnati, Ohio  on June 24 and will remain through July 21.  Did you know that Cincinnati is the founding chapter for CISV?

Did you know? One thing that sets Village apart is the opportunity to share a month with children from all over the world, and learn about their cultures, the likenesses and differences.

Seminar Camp

Seminar Camp is the pinnacle CISV program, for the oldest youth – age 17-18.

Delegates build and personalize their camp together with around 30 participants,
each one of them taking part in organizing camp life (planning activities, making
meals, making the schedule, cleaning …). Seminar Camp allows participants to develop lots of leadership skills and, above all, to socialize with people from other backgrounds!

This summer our chapter will send 3 Seminar Campers. Caroline Taylor has arrived in Cortina, Italy for Seminar Camp!   In addition to Caroline, Whit  is going to Tel Aviv, Israel and Felipe from Miami  is going to San Salvador, El Salvador.

This Year’s Theme & Travel Album

The theme of all CISV camps this year is Human Rights, a set of principles concerned with fairness and equality among people.  While Human Rights can be a challenging topic to get one’s head around, it’s also incredibly interesting and tremendously important. It’s an area that every Active Global Citizen should be aware of, and able to think critically about, whether you are aged 11 or 111.

In the next Summer Snapshot…

Our Step Up delegates arrive in Jacksonville June 28-June 30!
Our Village delegates head off to Lisbon, Portugal
and London, Canada on June 29!
Our Youth Meeting delegate departs for Finland July 2!

Last but not least, very special thanks to everyone who attended and helped at our fun Farewell Party. Thank you to the McClures for hosting.
