Jacksonville Village Summer 2015

It takes a VILLAGE to host a VILLAGE

In summer 2015, CISV Jacksonville will welcome some 72 international visitors from 12 different countries to Northeast Florida to participate in a unique and amazing summer experience, a CISV Village.

These young people will develop cultural awareness, understanding and global friendships which will enable them to make a long-lasting positive impact on our world.

Before they arrive there is much to prepare. Hosting a CISV program in our community is a privilege. Not only are we creating an impactful experience for the youth attending our camp, but we are also creating the opportunity for young people from the Jacksonville area to be invited to travel throughout the world for years to come. For security reasons, we do not publicly disclose the location of the Village.

Jacksonville’s first Village was held in 1978 at the Bartram School campus. Delegates to that Village are now nearly 50 years old! And believe it or not, we’re still in touch with some of them who still cherish their time in our area. View a video from the first Village in Jacksonville. Since then, multiple Villages have been held in Jacksonville thanks to the dedication of CISV volunteers through the years.

Our Villagers have a very unique and special experience awaiting them…we want to make sure they love our area and want to come back for another visit! We need your help. Please consider:

Volunteering for one or more of the committees. Detailed guidance and assistance will be provided to each of the committee volunteers.
