CISV JACKSONVILLE IS 40 YEARS STRONG!

In the mid-1970’s, Dorothy Groshell (CISV Jacksonville founder) read an article in The Saturday Review entitled “Catch Them While They’re Young,” and was excited by the opportunities CISV could offer her young sons. Since there was no Chapter in Jacksonville, she started one (now one of 21 chapters in the US, still the only one in Florida).

CISV Jacksonville held its first Interchange with El Salvador in 1976 and held its first Village in 1978 (pictured above).

In 2016, CISV marks 40 years of offering international educational programs to Jacksonville youth and adults.

To celebrate our 40^th anniversary, we are having a 40^th birthday party on Friday, November 18 at River City Brewing Company from 7 pm to 10 pm. The address is 835 Museum Cir. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
